Peter: Courageous Failure, Humble Hero (John 21:1-22, 1 Peter 5:5-11)
Joseph J Graber, December 14, 2014Part of the Gospel of John series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
When others did not know what to say, Peter spoke up. When others were afraid, Peter drew his sword and went to work. He was a leader, and others followed him. But there came a night where he was left broken and confused- unable to lead. That night and the grace the Lord showed him in coming days gave Peter an awesome perspective on humility. Years later he wrote, "Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, and in due season He will lift you up".
