A Crucifixion in the Andes
Today we visited a Crucifixion re-enactment in a nearby village, it was quite the re-enactment- they had an ambulance there to take the Jesus actor to the hospital as soon as he was taken down from the cross because they used actual nails in his hands and actually beat him.
I have never been in such a throng of people as I was today while watching this re-enactment. In the photo below, the police allowed me to be in front because I was filming, but right behind me are thousands of people pressing up against me- only held back by the authority of the police. The throngs added a level of reality to the whole experience.
