The Tower of Babel (Genesis 10:1-12, Genesis 11:1-9)
Joseph J Graber, August 21, 2016Part of the Genesis series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
Considering the account of the Tower of Babel within the context of the great commission. The post flood command from God was to 'be fruitful and multiply and fill the whole earth'. At the Tower of Babel, the people were trying to preserve themselves in their own way- the dividing of the languages caused them to go out and 'fill the whole earth'. Similarly, when Christ commanded us to 'go into all the world' we have an option to go willingly- or suffer the consequences.
