Equipping the saints for the work of ministry
The vision of the church is to continue the ministries of Jesus through the power of His Spirit. Jesus ministered to unbelievers as well as His own disciples. The church is called the body of Christ and His footsteps should be our pathway.
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
It is our desire to be witnesses of Christ in our homes, neighborhoods, cities, states, countries and through the world by the empowering of the Holy Spirit.
God has given His Spirit to the church not only to empower them as witnesses to the world, but also to equip disciples to effectively minister to one another.
The Bible says, “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all” (1 Corinthians 12:4-7).
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-13).
